General Information
An excellent private campsite which consists of a sizeable private wooded area situated next to Merthyr Mawr Warren - Europe's largest dune system, site of special scientific interest and one of the locations where Lawrence of Arabia was filmed. This combined with the ruins of Candleston Castle, a 15th century fortified manor house probably built on site of earlier wooden castle, and the recently build wooden fort make it a perfect site for any event.
PLEASE NOTE - it's easy to get lost on the dunes so don't wander off alone. If you have one, take a whistle with you just in case. Also carry a bottle or two of water with you, especially if the weather is hot.
Facilities
Flushing toilets
Hot Showers
Standpipes at individual camping glades

SatNav
CF32 0LS - this postcode is somewhere in the middle of Merthyr Mawr village, so should get you to the right neck of the woods. The site itself is at the end of Merthyr Mawr Road.
In general we do not recommend the exclusive use of Satellite Navigation systems to find LRP sites, as they rarely have a post code and the entrance to the site may be difficult to find. We therefore strongly recommend that you also have a copy of the directions and map above in case your SatNav leads you astray.
