General Information
Construction of Fort Widley commenced in 1861 and was completed in 1870. It is one of a string of 5 forts built to protect Portsmouth from attack from the North. The site has a parade ground area which can be used for camping and a series of underground tunnels which can be used for LRP.
Accomodation is camping only for players. There is indoor space available for monsters - please bring bedding (mattress & sleeping bag, etc).
Note - There is an equestrian centre at the fort. Please be considerate to both riders and horses when near the equestrian areas.
Facilities
Flushing toilets.
Washing facilities.
Local Amenities
There are a couple of pubs on Portsdown Hill Road to the East of Fort Widley.
The nearest towns are Havant, just to the East of the A3(M), and Cosham, just South-West of the fort, which presumably have shops, supermarkents, etc.
Directions
Take the A3(M) to J5.
At the roundabout turn East onto the B2177 towards Havant
At the roundabout turn sharp left onto Portsdown Hill road.
Go under the motorway and continue along Portsdown Hill road for just over 2 miles.
Fort Widley is on the right - it is the second fort, the first is Fort Purbook.
On arrival please park just outside the fort - do not drive under the archway.

SatNav
PO6 3LS - this is the postcode of the fort, so should take you straight there.
In general we do not recommend the exclusive use of Satellite Navigation systems to find LRP sites, as they rarely have a post code and the entrance to the site may be difficult to find. We therefore strongly recommend that you also have a copy of the directions and map above in case your SatNav leads you astray.
