LRP Weapons (& Costume/Armour)

Adventurer's Mart - Costume, leather armour, latex weapons, arrowkaster bows/arrows, belt pouches, weapon loops - pretty much everything the adventurer needs!
Arrow Kaster - the best place to go for LRP-safe bows, crossbows, arrows and quarrels. Sadly Arrow Kaster don't have a website, but you can contact them to request a catalogue or to order at: Arrow Kaster, PO Box 1945, Cannock, Staffs WS11 2TT. Tel: (01543) 466713.
Character Kit - plenty of lovely stuff, including some very shiny shields....
Eldritch - Lots of stock weapons and standard products to order, very popular because they're good.
Having a Larp - Weapons, armour, scabbards, costume, pouches - pretty much everything you could want. Very friendly & helpful, too!
Hightower Crafts - Pricey, but some really very good stuff here if you can afford it. Lots of options on very fancy equipment, and even a Xena page for those who would dare the cold...
LRP Store - everything you could possibly need for LRP, from costume, accessories and armour to weapons and combat training, via special effects, contact lenses, camping equipment and pretty much anything else you can think of. Everything you could possibly need for LRP.
Re-Enactor's Market - held twice a year near coventry, you can get almost anything here!
Saxon Violence - a collection of LARP weapons and shields. Some very nice stuff including weapons with engraving on the blade and some unusual things like latex shovels.
Skian Mhor - "You imagine it, we create it" is the motto here. Armour, weapons, masks, make-up are all available as well as catalogues so you can browse at your leisure. [Not sure if this link is still working?]

Armchair Armoury - All types of armour, both ready made and in kit form.
Artisan Armours - Gorgeous looking leather armour.
Ben Loder - Beautiful handmade leather costume, armour and props. He can also produce detailed maps on leather - lovely! This guy has worked on Troy, Kingdom of Heaven, and other films.
By The Sword - For the serious collector and reenactor, don't try to use their weapons for LRP, but some of their historical armour and costume is excellent. Check it out.
Costumes Galore - Specialize in stage makeup and theatrical costuming - based in the US.
Croft Design - Ecclesiastical outfitters.
Darkblade leather armour - Loads of leather stuff: armour, scabbards, hoods, tankard straps and anything else you can imagine. If they don't make it, ask them for it and they will.
Garb the World - Inexpensive, sturdy, machine washable medieval garb. Based in the US
Historical Costume Company - Historical costume from almost every period/genre imaginable. Includes a section on Pirates, and on costume for children.
Kevin Garlick - Maker of qality period shoes. Pricey, but nice!
Maeve's Unmentionables - Custom hand-made clothing for Renaissance and Medieval re-enactment.
Medieval Weaponry - Weapons for reenactment not LRP, but they do some nice costume, armour and accessories at reasonable prices.

Makeup/Effects

Charles Fox - Theatrical makeup, prosthetics and special effects. These guys have a great shop in Covent Garden.
Monster Boutique - Morbid Masks' online shop. For masks, stage make-up, accessories and loads of stuff for creating top of the range bad guys.
Show Makeup - Theatrical makeup for stage, screen, dance, photography, tattoo cover and face painting.

Alley Cat Scratch - an eclectic mix of costuming, writing and a bit of computer information with an irreverent twist. Includes a huge amount of detail on costumes from the LOTR films. Extensive costuming links section.
Advice for LARPers - Articles offering unsolcicited but useful advice on everything from costume to running your own event.
Dawn's Costume Pages - Lots of historical patterns and advice on costume making. Also has a great links page to other costume resources.
DIY guide to LRP - Brilliant guide to making costumes, weapons and armour at basic levels. All simply illustrated and well explained. Perfect for beginners to LRP and to costume making. Visit here, you won't regret it.

Stage Fighting and Combat

Academy of the Sword - Sadly based in the USA, so attending their classes is out unless you don't mind travelling! However, they do have books on theatrical and stage fighting.
British Acadamy of Dramatic Combat - Offer short courses around the UK as well as books on stage fighting techniques.
British Academy of Stage and Screen Combat - Offer courses and workshops for beginners and experienced actors alike.
Company of Maisters of the Science of Defence - The website for English martial arts. Information about and tuition in a variety of English forms of fighting.
The Grange - Teach European martial Arts
Taranis Fighting Arts - Training in a wide range of European martial arts, including, but by no means limited to, hand-and-a-half sword, paired swords, rapier, dagger, quarterstaff, etc. Classes in Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

Communities

LARPA - the Live Action Roleplayers Association promotes and encourages live roleplaying as a form of art, education, and entertainment to the public by facilitating the free exchange of ideas in the live roleplaying community, providing education and educational resources, organizing forums, and other appropriate activities. Based in the US, but have international resources.
LRP Alliance - a community of forums, and the providers of insurance for most UK LRP groups (including Bladelands). Has a calendar of LRP events.
Pagga - formerly the hub of the UK LRP scene, Pagga no longer exists, but the website has an archive of pretty much everything which is a good general resource for all things LRP-related.
Rule 7 - took up the torch when Pagga died, Rule 7 is mostly a large number of forums where UK LRPers meet and chat. A good place to find out about anything and everything that's going on in the world of LRP in the UK. Also has a calendar of LRP events.
